Udhayanidhi Stalin criticizes TVK government over farmer neglect
Tamil Nadu Leader of the Opposition, Udhayanidhi Stalin, has accused the TVK-led government of misgovernance and neglecting the state's development during its first 105 days in office. Speaking at an event in Pattukkottai, Stalin criticized the Assembly proceedings, alleging that the ruling party uses diversionary tactics and focuses on social media content rather than addressing pressing issues like law and order.
A primary point of contention is the distress faced by farmers in the Delta region. Stalin claimed that delays in releasing water from the Mettur dam have severely impacted kuruvai cultivation, noting that under previous DMK rule, water was released by mid-June. He called for compensation for farmers affected by these delays.
Additionally, Stalin criticized the Chief Minister, C Joseph Vijay, for failing to respond to questions in the Assembly and questioned the government's decision to provide cars to MLAs. He also referenced his recent detention following a farmers' protest in Thanjavur, stating he is not intimidated by such actions.
