UEFA Champions League 2026/27 Draw Scheduled for August 27
UEFA confirmed that the league‑phase draw for the 2026/27 Champions League will take place on Thursday, 27 August 2026, at the organization’s headquarters in Nyon, Switzerland. The draw follows the conclusion of the qualifying playoffs, whose second‑leg matches are set for 25 and 26 August.
The competition will feature 36 clubs in a revived league‑phase format: each team plays eight matches – four at home and four away – against opponents drawn from four seeding pots, with the eight highest‑placed sides advancing to the knockout stage. Six English clubs, five Spanish clubs, and four each from Germany, Italy and France are already qualified. Italian clubs Napoli, Inter, Roma and debutants Como will learn their opponents on the draw day.
Como’s entry marks its first appearance in the premier European club tournament, while the format continues to build on the changes introduced in the 2024‑25 season.
