UEFA has issued significant disciplinary sanctions against Fenerbahçe players Matteo Guendouzi and Mason Greenwood following post-match incidents during a Champions League play-off against Olympique Lyonnais.
Guendouzi received a four-match ban and a €50,000 fine for provoking spectators and violating rules of conduct. Two of these matches are suspended for a one-year probationary period, meaning he will miss upcoming fixtures against Roma and Aston Villa. Mason Greenwood was handed a one-match suspension, also suspended for one year, and a €30,000 fine for violating conduct rules.
Additional sanctions include a five-match ban for Lyon goalkeeper coach Antonio Ferreira for “serious assault” during the confrontation.
