Brazil universities announce thousands of new undergraduate vacancies for 2027

Several Brazilian educational institutions have announced openings for the 2027 academic year. The Universidade Estadual de Goiás (UEG) is offering 4,300 free undergraduate spots across 35 courses in 32 cities, with applications open until September 21.

In Santa Catarina, the Universidade Federal de Santa Catarina (UFSC) and the Instituto Federal Catarinense (IFC) have launched a unified selection process offering 4,553 and 1,073 vacancies, respectively. Meanwhile, the Universidade Federal do Rio Grande (FURG) has opened applications for 1,063 spots in various campuses, including Rio Grande and Santo Antônio da Patrulha.

On a broader scale, the Ministry of Education (MEC) announced that 65 federal universities will introduce 11,354 new undergraduate vacancies starting in 2027. This expansion, part of the 'Universidades Transformadoras' program, includes 244 new courses focusing on health, technology, artificial intelligence, and special education. Additionally, the Universidade Estadual de Mato Grosso do Sul (UEMS) is providing updates regarding its 2025 entrance exams and diverse course offerings.
