Uherské Hradiště road closure and detour planned for Sokolovská street

The concrete panels installed after a January water‑pipe burst near the Hvězda cinema in Uherské Hradiště will be removed. A full closure of Sokolovská street is required for road reconstruction, with a temporary detour routed through the Východ housing estate.

Mayor Stanislav Blaha said the work, coordinated by the Slovácká road administration, will begin in the second week of July and is expected to be completed within one week. The detour will affect traffic priorities at several intersections and temporarily suspend the Studentské náměstí bus stop, replaced by a stop at Na Rybníku. The water company will cover the reconstruction costs.

The reconstruction follows a water‑pipe rupture at the end of January that caused a two‑day traffic diversion and left the concrete panels as a reminder of the incident.
