UK urged to block Paramount‑Warner Bros merger by leading actors
Actors Benedict Cumberbatch, Alan Cumming and Benedict Wong have written an op‑ed in The Guardian calling on the United Kingdom’s culture secretary, Lisa Nandy, to intervene and stop Paramount’s proposed acquisition of Warner Bros. Discovery. The deal is valued at roughly $111 billion and, if completed, would give a single owner control of assets such as Channel 5 and CNN International.
