UK, Canada, France, New Zealand and Norway sanction supporters of Israeli settler violence, welcomed by Palestinian FM
The United Kingdom, Canada, France, New Zealand and Norway announced a new package of sanctions targeting entities and individuals that finance, support or facilitate violence by Israeli settlers against Palestinians in the occupied West Bank, including East Jerusalem.
The Palestinian Ministry of Foreign Affairs and Expatriates welcomed the measures, saying they align with international law and reflect growing recognition of the illegality of settlement activity. The ministry called for more robust actions, warning companies and investors against doing business in the settlements and urging the international community to expand punitive steps to curb the settlement system and protect Palestinian rights.
