UK child injuries reported at Sussex campsite and Arbroath industrial estate
A three‑year‑old boy was seriously injured after being struck by a van at Red House Farm campsite on Bookers Lane in Earnley, near Chichester, Sussex. Emergency services air‑lifted the child to hospital and police opened an investigation, with no arrests made at the time.
Separately, a nine‑year‑old girl from West Yorkshire was found injured at the Elliot Industrial Estate in Arbroath, Scotland, and later died at Ninewells Hospital in Dundee. Two other people were also taken to hospital. Police arrested a 35‑year‑old man known to the child, treating the death as suspicious and continuing the investigation.
