UK courts sentence two men for harassment and domestic violence offences

In Wales, 64‑year‑old Mark Bolderston of Capel Seion was sentenced by Aberystwyth Magistrates’ Court on 22 July to 18 weeks’ imprisonment, suspended for two years, after pleading guilty to two counts of harassment without violence. The magistrates also imposed a community order, 90 days of alcohol abstinence, rehabilitation activities, £200 compensation, £85 costs and restraining orders. Bolderston has a history of similar offences dating back to 2017.

In England, 31‑year‑old Kieran Smith of Monterey Gardens, Truro, was convicted at Truro Crown Court for a series of attacks in Helston in December 2025, including intentional strangulation, assault causing actual bodily harm, assault by beating and three breaches of restraining orders. He received a custodial sentence (details not disclosed) alongside convictions for multiple harassment offences. The court heard the victim suffered severe physical injuries, PTSD and anxiety, and that her child was also affected.
