UK faces potential 32 °C temperatures in mid‑June

Advanced ECMWF weather model maps indicate that temperatures across the United Kingdom could rise to 32 °C in the southeast of England around 15‑16 June. The forecast also shows 30 °C or higher possible in up to 21 English counties, including Yorkshire, Nottinghamshire, Derbyshire and others.

Despite the high temperatures, the model does not yet meet the criteria for an official heatwave, which requires the threshold to be exceeded for three consecutive days. The Met Office expects high pressure and generally above‑normal conditions for the first half of June, while also warning of possible heavy showers and thunderstorms.
