UK FCA launches £2 million campaign to aid motor‑finance customers in claiming compensation
The Financial Conduct Authority (FCA) has launched a £2 million advertising drive aimed at motor‑finance borrowers who may be owed compensation. The campaign runs across television, radio, print, billboards and social media and directs consumers to a free template complaint letter on the FCA’s website.
A FCA‑commissioned survey of 1,000 UK adults with motor‑finance agreements found that 27 % lack confidence to complain without a claims‑management firm, 59 % have made or are considering a claim and 23 % are unsure of their options. More than 80 % said the template would increase their confidence. The campaign runs from 27 July to 6 September 2026. Earlier in the year the FCA introduced a redress scheme that has been partially suspended after legal challenges, which the regulator says it will defend robustly.
