UK gang jailed for stealing £600k worth of Land Rovers

Four men have been jailed following a major investigation into a gang responsible for stealing more than 30 Land Rovers across the United Kingdom. The thefts, valued at approximately £600,000, occurred over an eight-month period across Worcestershire, Herefordshire, Gloucestershire, and Powys.

The group specifically targeted Land Rover Defenders, transporting them to a workshop in Bristol owned by Benjamin Hobbs, which functioned as a ‘chop shop’ for dealing in stolen car parts. Following Operation Liondale, the suspects were apprehended, with footage showing arrests and attempts to flee police.

At Hereford Crown Court, the defendants received the following sentences: Leonard Hodgkins was sentenced to four years and nine months, Benjamin Hobbs to four years and four months, Jimmy Butler to three years and eight months, and David Hodgkins to three years.
