UK heat forecast sees temperatures rise to 30 °C by weekend

After a cool, rainy start to June, forecasters expect a shift to high‑pressure air moving south over the United Kingdom. Meteorologists predict temperatures in southern England and the southeast to climb to the high‑20s on Friday and reach 29‑30 °C by Saturday, with similar highs expected early next week. The warm spell will bring higher humidity, making conditions feel more muggy than the drier May heatwave. Overnight lows are also expected to be milder, while much of northern England, Scotland and Northern Ireland should remain comparatively comfortable.

The outlook reflects a 40 % chance of above‑average warmth into August, though near‑normal temperatures remain the most likely scenario for the summer months.
