UK heatwave set to push eight counties above 30°C
The Met Office’s long‑range forecast for 15‑24 June predicts fine, dry weather and high pressure building across the east and south‑east of England. On 23 June, eight counties – London, East Sussex, West Sussex, Hertfordshire, Essex, Norfolk and Suffolk – are expected to see temperatures exceed 30 °C, with London possibly reaching 33 °C. A brief chance of thunderstorms is mentioned for the south‑west, followed by a return to settled, warm conditions later in the week.
The heat spell follows record‑breaking highs recorded in May and is part of a second burst of summer heat after a recent period of cold snaps and rain.
