UK Independent Grooming‑Gang Report Finds 250,000 Victims

An independent 219‑page inquiry released on 16 June 2026 compiled court records, previous investigations and more than 20 survivor testimonies across 149 local authority districts. It estimates that at least 250,000 young white British girls were subjected to repeated rape, trafficking, torture and forced conversion by organised grooming gangs, most of whose convicted members bore distinctly Muslim names and were linked to Pakistani heritage. The report accuses police, social services, the NHS and successive governments of returning victims to abusers and suppressing ethnicity data. It recommends automatic deportation for foreign‑national perpetrators, loss of citizenship and removal of dual nationals, and deportation proceedings for family members who aided the crimes. The findings have prompted protests, a police crackdown on demonstrators and political criticism, with Reform UK leader Nigel Farage citing the report as evidence of institutional cowardice and Prime Minister Keir Starmer facing accusations of a cover‑up.
