UK Met Office predicts mid-June heatwave with temperatures up to 30°C

The Met Office said the wet spell that dominated early June will give way to a settled pattern as high pressure moves close to the UK. It warned that very warm or hot conditions could become established by mid‑month, with forecasts showing temperatures potentially reaching 30 °C in London on June 22 and across much of England and Wales.

BBC Weather echoed the outlook, noting a likelihood of high‑twenties temperatures and a chance that the 30 °C barrier could be breached on the weekend of June 13. Both agencies expect drier weather in southern and eastern regions, though they cautioned that occasional rain could still occur and moderate the heat.

"The start of this period will see a transition to a generally more settled weather pattern for much of the UK," the Met Office said, adding that "high pressure is favoured to remain close by to the UK towards the end of this period, bringing widely settled conditions and often above‑average temperatures."
