UK police seize multi‑million‑pound cannabis farms in Nottinghamshire and Luton
Police in Nottinghamshire uncovered an industrial‑scale cannabis farm in a disused unit on Botany Avenue in Mansfield, finding more than 4,800 plants worth millions of pounds. Six men were arrested and charged with possession with intent to supply, conspiracy to produce a Class B drug and handling criminal property. They appeared at Nottingham Magistrates’ Court on 5 May and were remanded in custody pending a Crown Court hearing on 2 June.
In a separate operation, officers in Luton also seized a cannabis cultivation site, adding to the recent crackdown on illicit grow‑ops in the region.
Both busts were part of nationwide policing priorities aimed at removing harmful substances from the streets and disrupting large‑scale drug production.
