UK Prime Minister Andy Burnham sees Reform UK overtake Labour in latest poll

Two weeks after Andy Burnham became Prime Minister, a YouGov poll showed Reform UK, led by Nigel Farage, edging ahead of Labour with 23% of the vote versus Labour's 22%. The survey indicated that the initial “Burnham bounce” was short‑lived and that voter enthusiasm for the new government remains limited.

A separate Survation poll of Labour Party members found that 86% believe Burnham has improved the party’s chances in the next general election, with most expecting either a hung parliament or a narrow Labour majority. While party activists are broadly supportive, the broader electorate appears more cautious, and Burnham already faces criticism over issues such as the early release of prisoners, the small‑boats crisis and potential tax rises.
