UK rail services face disruption due to planned engineering works

Planned engineering works and track renewals will cause significant rail disruptions across several regions in the United Kingdom over the coming weekends.

Southern rail services will face closures on September 12 and 13. All lines between London Bridge and Streatham via Peckham Rye will be closed, with replacement buses operating through Herne Hill, Streatham Hill, and Streatham Common. Additionally, route amendments and replacement buses will affect services between Horsham and Barnham. On Sunday, September 13, track renewal between Guildford and Earlswood will close all lines, necessitating replacement buses between Purley and Redhill, Reigate, and Horley, as well as between Redhill and Tonbridge. Direct services between London Victoria and Reigate will be suspended.

Further disruptions are scheduled for September 19 and 20 as Network Rail performs upgrades. Work at Leicester station and Knighton Junction will involve track renewal and realignment. Consequently, rail replacement buses will operate between Kettering, Market Harborough, Leicester, and Loughborough. Services between Leicester and Nottingham will be restricted to the Loughborough to Nottingham section, while reduced services will run between London St Pancras and Wellingborough, as well as London St Pancras and Nottingham/Sheffield.
