Kraków mayoral election: Łukasz Gibała leads in latest polls

Recent polling by the Ogólnopolska Grupa Badawcza (OGB) for Polsat News and Interia indicates that Łukasz Gibała is the leading candidate in the upcoming extraordinary mayoral election in Kraków. Gibała holds approximately 39.17% of the support, followed by Monika Piątkowska at 23.74%, and Michał Drewnicki at 14.74%. The poll suggests a likely second-round runoff between Gibała and Piątkowska, where Gibała would secure roughly 62.51% of the vote.

During the presentation of these results on Polsat News, a mathematical error occurred when the graphic displayed a total of 123.7% support. OGB clarified that the error resulted from displaying the percentage of undecided voters (23.7%) alongside the candidate results, which had already been adjusted to include a proportional distribution of those undecided votes.

In the campaign, candidates have presented various platforms. Gibała has proposed expanding the Park&Ride parking system to reduce traffic and smog, while others have debated healthcare and senior support. Political tensions have also risen, with some figures criticizing Gibała’s campaign methods and financial background.
