Łukasz Gibała registered for Kraków mayoral election

The municipal electoral commission has officially registered Łukasz Gibała as a candidate in the extraordinary mayoral elections in Kraków. Gibała, a city councilor, confirmed his registration after his candidacy faced uncertainty earlier in the week.

The registration issues arose when the commission initially rejected 3,200 signatures out of approximately 5,500 collected because the word ‘Kraków’ was missing from the residents' addresses. In response, Gibała’s supporters mobilized to collect roughly 9,000 additional signatures, successfully meeting the requirement with a surplus.

Other candidates officially registered by the commission include Michał Drewnicki (PiS), Jan Hoffman, Aleksandra Owca (Razem), and Monika Piątkowska (supported by KO and PSL). Conversely, the candidacies of Stanisław Kułacha and Marta Ratuszyńska were rejected due to insufficient signatures. Verification of signatures for five other committees remains ongoing.
