UKIM opens enrollment for 8,851 university spots

Ss. Cyril and Methodius University (UKIM) in Skopje has opened the first round of applications for the 2026/2027 academic year. A total of 8,851 spots are available across 23 faculties for first-year students.

The distribution of available places includes 4,395 state-funded spots, 3,621 co-financed regular spots, and 835 part-time spots. Major faculties offering high numbers of positions include the Medical Faculty (950), FINKI (800), and the Philological Faculty (805).

Minister of Education and Science Vesna Janevska stated that total university quotas have been reduced by approximately 2,000 places following a labor market analysis. The reduction aims to address saturation in certain fields where unemployment is high, while addressing shortages in other sectors. Fees for state-funded students are set at 200 euros, while co-financed and part-time students will pay 400 euros.
