Ukraine advances 21-23km near Lyman in recent offensive
Ukrainian forces have reportedly made significant territorial gains near Lyman, advancing between 21 and 23 kilometers since early August. This movement has allowed Ukraine to reclaim several settlements, including Drobyisheve, Yarova, Stavky, and much of Lyman.
Russian forces have also reportedly retreated from Mykolaivka, a settlement located east of Sloviansk within the Sloviansk-Kramatorsk urban area. Additionally, Ukraine has regained control of the Sviati Hory forest within the national park.
Analysts suggest that if Ukrainian forces can secure the Terny-Torske line, they may establish a path toward Kreminna in the Luhansk region. This would mirror breakthrough attempts seen in the autumn of 2022. The current offensive is viewed as an effort to test the strength of Russian defensive lines in a complex theater of operations.
