Ukraine civilian deaths in Russian airstrike; Russia alleges Kyiv uses mines

A Russian airstrike on July 30 killed at least eight civilians in Ukraine, including children, and injured more than 50 people. The attack involved over 70 missiles and more than 280 drones, with Ukrainian officials reporting damage to homes, businesses and infrastructure across multiple regions.

Separately, the Russian Ministry of Foreign Affairs' ambassador without portfolio, Rozyon Miroshnick, claimed that Kyiv is deploying anti‑personnel mines and new drone‑delivered “flower‑petal” mines in the Luhansk People's Republic, describing the alleged use as a serious military crime that causes civilian casualties.

Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy condemned the Russian strike, calling it a terror attack and urging further Western air‑defence aid.
