Ukraine concludes 40-day campaign targeting Russian energy infrastructure

Ukraine has concluded a 40-day military campaign aimed at increasing economic and military pressure on Russia through long-range strikes on strategic infrastructure. According to the Security Service of Ukraine (SBU), the operation targeted over 100 strategic objects, including 14 refineries, fuel terminals, defense industry facilities, and command posts.

A significant component of this campaign involved targeting the Russian oil sector. Recent strikes have caused substantial disruptions, such as the attack on the Omsk refinery in Siberia, which forced the facility to halt processing after damage to key units.

In a recent escalation, Ukrainian forces struck the TANEKO oil refinery in Nizhnekamsk, Tatarstan. Local authorities reported that the attack resulted in 13 deaths and 75 injuries, including a child. The Ukrainian General Staff confirmed the hit on the refinery, noting the use of FP-1 drones. This incident is described by media outlets as one of the deadliest Ukrainian strikes since the start of the conflict, occurring amidst intensified aerial exchanges between both nations.
