Ukraine confirms destruction of Russian MiG-29 and Ka-27 aircraft

The Ukrainian General Staff has confirmed the destruction of two Russian military aircraft during recent strikes. A MiG-29 fighter jet was destroyed near the Millerovo airfield in the Rostov region on August 27, 2026. Subsequently, a Ka-27 helicopter was destroyed near the Yeysk airfield in the Krasnodar Krai on August 30, 2026.

In addition to the aerial losses, Ukrainian forces reported strikes on other military targets. These include an ammunition depot in Volodymyrivka and a warehouse containing materials and equipment in Ocheretyne, both located in the Donetsk region. Military equipment was also reportedly hit in Rechitsa, Bryansk region, Russia. Ukrainian officials stated that operations against key Russian military targets are ongoing as they continue to assess the full scale of the damage.
