Ukraine denies entry to Polish journalist Łukasz Warzecha

Ukrainian security services have issued a three-year entry ban to Polish journalist Łukasz Warzecha. The incident occurred at the Dołhobyczów–Uhrynów border crossing while Warzecha was traveling with a group of journalists for an official study visit organized by the Mieroszewski Centre and the Ukrainian Institute.

Despite the list of participants having been previously coordinated and approved by Ukrainian authorities, Warzecha was denied entry after waiting seven hours at the border. The justification provided by Ukrainian services reportedly cited security concerns.

Polish diplomats from the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and the embassy in Kyiv intervened during the process, but were unable to secure his entry. Polish Deputy Marshal Krzysztof Bosak has demanded urgent explanations from Foreign Minister Radosław Sikorski, criticizing the treatment of the journalist. The Ministry of Foreign Affairs stated that the matter remains ongoing and emphasized that they are continuing to act on behalf of the Polish citizen.
