Ukraine drones strike 15 Russian ships in Sea of Azov, raising total attacks to 105 vessels

Ukraine’s drone commander Robert "Madyar" Brovdi announced that Ukrainian unmanned aircraft hit 15 Russian vessels on the night of 13 July in the Sea of Azov, including seven oil tankers, five cargo ships, one ferry and two tugboats. The attacks are part of a sustained campaign that, according to Brovdi, has targeted 105 Russian ships over the past eight days, aiming to cripple Moscow’s maritime logistics corridor used for oil, grain, steel and other exports.

The strikes also targeted energy infrastructure in Crimea, with claims of destroying nine substations, a power‑line hub and a gas‑pump station, as well as several air‑defence systems. Russia has not confirmed the claims, and commercial traffic through the Kerch Strait and the Don‑Azov canal remains limited, with Russia halting transit through the canal on 10 July. The attacks are intended to pressure Russia’s war‑fighting capacity and disrupt global grain shipments that transit the Azov route.
