Ukraine employs electronic warfare to counter Russian drones

A technological battle is unfolding within the electromagnetic spectrum as Ukrainian forces utilize electronic warfare to counter Russian drones. This invisible conflict involves the use of antennas and jamming systems to blind and disarm unmanned aerial vehicles before they can reach their targets.

Oleksii, a commander known by the call sign ‘Did’ within the ‘Hartia’ electronic warfare company, has been leading these efforts since May 2023. Drawing on over 20 years of experience in telecommunications and IT, he transitioned from an FPV drone operator to developing electronic warfare capabilities from the ground up. The rapid evolution of this technology requires constant adaptation to counter shifting drone frequencies and guided aerial bombs.
