Ukraine establishes continuous drone presence over Crimea

Ukraine has established a continuous drone presence over Crimea, marking a significant shift in aerial activity over the peninsula for the first time in twelve years. According to the Ukraine Unmanned Systems Forces, the 414th Madiara Birds Brigade conducted over seven thousand missions during the summer as part of Operation Crimea.

These drone operations involve flights spanning dozens of kilometers to strike Russian targets. To facilitate this, Ukrainian forces have targeted Russian detection and interception systems. Recent strikes include hits on the Nebo SV radar, Pe-18 radar elements, and communication equipment near Olenivka, as well as a relay station near Frunze and a Russian military training center in Sevastopol. These actions aim to degrade Russia's ability to track and intercept incoming unmanned aerial vehicles.
