Ukraine faces massive public debt obligations through 2037

Ukraine is projected to pay approximately $160.3 billion toward the servicing and repayment of its public debt over the next decade, according to a payment schedule from the Ukrainian Ministry of Finance.

By the end of 2037, the country is expected to pay $103.8 billion toward the principal amount of its domestic and external debt, alongside $56.5 billion for debt servicing. Looking specifically at 2027, the Ministry's schedule indicates a requirement to pay $6.674 billion to foreign creditors, consisting of $3.335 billion in principal and $3.339 billion in debt servicing.

As of late August, Ukraine's total public debt reached $215.55 billion. The nation remains heavily dependent on external financing as international partners continue discussions regarding new aid packages and urge increased efforts toward financial self-sufficiency.
