Ukraine liberates 26 villages and retakes 745 sq km in offensive

President Volodymyr Zelenskyj announced that Ukrainian forces have liberated 26 villages across the Dnipropetrovsk, Donetsk, and Zaporizjzja regions. Since the start of the offensive in January, Ukrainian units have reclaimed a total of 745 square kilometers of occupied territory.

Zelenskyj reported significant Russian military losses, stating that at least 9,550 soldiers have been killed and over 6,600 wounded. He also noted that the operation has resulted in the capture of numerous prisoners of war.

In addition to territorial gains, Ukraine conducted strikes against the Russian naval base in Novorossiysk. Using Paljanytsia and Neptun missiles alongside unmanned marine systems, the military targeted air defense positions, piers, and port infrastructure. Following these drone attacks, two major grain terminals in Novorossiysk—with combined annual export capacities of 15.6 million tons—have suspended operations to assess damage.

Local authorities in the Russian Krasnodar region reported that the wave of Ukrainian attacks resulted in at least two civilian deaths, including an eight-year-old child.
