Ukraine military aid surges to €7.2 billion amid ongoing deep-strike strategy

Ukraine's military aid saw a significant surge in June, reaching €7.2 billion, driven largely by the European Union’s new Ukraine Support Loan. This represents the highest monthly allocation since April 2024. While the European Union provided €4.3 billion in May and June through its €90-billion loan program, long-term monthly funding averages have fallen to €2.94 billion following the cessation of direct U.S. funding in February 2025. Individual contributions from Germany, Denmark, and the Netherlands also bolstered the June totals.

Separately, President Volodymyr Zelenskyy announced that Ukrainian forces will continue long-range strikes deep into Russian territory through September. Zelenskyy stated that recent successful operations against Russian economic and military targets, including naval bases and energy infrastructure, validate the current strategy. These strikes aim to weaken Russia's war economy and military capabilities.
