Ukraine needs €650 million for winter as Russia captures eight towns
Ukraine's government says the country requires about €650 million to prepare for the approaching winter, warning that insufficient funds could strain its defence and civilian infrastructure. President Volodymyr Zelensky is described as facing mounting external pressure, internal challenges and attacks.
In the same period, Russian forces announced the liberation of eight settlements, including Aniskino in the Kharkiv region and villages in the Kharkiv, Sumy and Zaporizhzhia regions. The Russian defence ministry reported nearly 10,000 Ukrainian military casualties across its eastern, central, northern, western, southern and Dnipro fronts. It also claimed to have destroyed 34 ships, 94 armored vehicles and intercepted dozens of guided bombs while striking Ukrainian logistics, energy and transport infrastructure.
