Poland to call 245,000 people for 2027 military qualification
Poland's Ministry of National Defence has released a draft regulation regarding the 2027 military qualification process. The program is expected to involve approximately 245,000 individuals, marking one of the largest groups in recent years.
The process is scheduled to be officially announced on January 15, 2027, with examinations and medical checks slated to run from early February through the end of May 2027. The largest demographic group will consist of men born in 2008, who will be reaching adulthood.
Other groups included in the qualification are men born between 2003 and 2007 who have not yet established a military service category, and individuals previously deemed temporarily unfit for service in 2025 or 2026. Additionally, women born between 2000 and 2008 who are completing studies in critical fields—such as medicine, psychology, and certain technical disciplines like IT—will also be called.
The Central Military Recruitment Center, based in Warsaw, will oversee the system. The draft regulation is currently undergoing inter-ministerial consultations and remains subject to change before final signing.
