Ukraine reports casualties following Russian airstrikes on civilian infrastructure

Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy reported that at least three people were killed and more than 20 injured during recent Russian aerial attacks across Ukraine. A ballistic missile strike on Kryvyi Rih resulted in two deaths and 14 injuries, while another fatality was recorded in Sumy. In Kyiv and its surrounding areas, six people were injured, and fires were reported at several locations, including a book market.

Zelenskyy stated that Russian forces are targeting civilian infrastructure wherever possible. He noted a significant escalation in weaponry usage this week, reporting that Russia has launched over 1,550 drones, approximately 1,560 bombs, and 62 missiles and cruise missiles at Ukraine.

The President issued an urgent appeal to international allies to supply more air defense missiles, arguing that European stockpiles should be used to counter threats, including missiles allegedly supplied by North Korea. Experts note a recent escalation in violence as both sides utilize faster, longer-range weaponry.
