Ukraine reports North Korean missile use and proposes Black Sea truce

Ukraine has reported the use of North Korean-manufactured weaponry in recent Russian missile strikes, which resulted in at least ten deaths and dozens of injuries. President Volodymyr Zelensky has raised alarms regarding the increasing military cooperation between Moscow and Pyongyang, specifically citing the supply of ballistic missiles. Zelensky also estimated that between 30,000 and 50,000 North Korean troops could potentially be deployed in Russian territory, prompting urgent calls for increased Western air defense support.

In a separate diplomatic move, Ukraine has proposed a limited truce to Russia aimed at suspending attacks on civilian targets in the Black Sea. This proposal seeks to protect maritime routes and port infrastructure following a 76% drop in Ukrainian grain exports compared to the previous year. The proposal, reportedly transmitted through a third party, aims to mitigate the escalation of strikes against shipping and ports, though Russia has not yet provided a formal response.
