Ukraine: Russian strikes kill multiple civilians in Kyiv and Zaporizhzhia

Russian strikes across Ukraine have resulted in multiple fatalities and significant civilian casualties. In Kyiv, a warehouse fire in the Darnytskyi district caused at least one death and several injuries following a ballistic missile alert.

In the southern city of Zaporizhzhia, a Russian drone attack killed one man and injured four others. These incidents follow a deadly series of bombardments on Friday that killed at least 20 people across the country. A major part of that wave included a drone strike on a busy shopping center in Kryvyi Rih, which killed 16 people and injured at least 130, including 23 children. Rescue efforts for the Kryvyi Rih attack continued through the night, with officials reporting nine people missing, including two children.

The United Nations noted that July was the deadliest month for Ukrainian civilians since May 2022, with at least 437 deaths recorded. The UN also stated that civilian casualties this year have reached their highest levels since the initial months of the conflict.
