Ukraine seeks military storage in Moldova amid Russian drone activity
The conflict between Russia and Ukraine continues to impact regional security and logistics. Recent Russian drone activity near the Yagodin border crossing between Ukraine and Poland caused air alarms in Poland and the temporary suspension of operations at the Rzeszów and Lublin airports.
In response to Russian efforts to disrupt supply lines, Ukraine is seeking to move military stockpiles further from the front lines. Moldovan Prime Minister Vasile Tofan announced that Kyiv has requested to rent storage facilities in Chișinău to secure its assets. This shift follows a change in logistics patterns, where international military aid has transitioned from heavy equipment to long-range strike assets.
Amidst these developments, Polish Foreign Minister Radosław Sikorski commented on NATO's potential capability, suggesting that European NATO members could rapidly disable Russian refinery capacities. The Kremlin has dismissed such remarks as ‘Russophobic’.
