Ukraine to intensify strikes on Russian oil refineries

President Volodymyr Zelenskyy has announced that Ukraine will intensify its strikes against Russian oil refineries to disrupt the funding of the Russian war effort. This strategic shift follows reports from Ukrainian intelligence regarding a new Russian military doctrine. According to Zelenskyy, documents suggest that Vladimir Putin has authorized attacks on a broader range of civilian infrastructure—including schools, hospitals, and logistics networks—to pressure populations into abandoning major cities like Kyiv ahead of winter.

Zelenskyy emphasized that while Ukraine will target energy infrastructure to counter Russian strikes on its own power grid, it will not deliberately target civilian objects. In terms of military development, Ukraine is accelerating the production of long-range missiles, including the FP-7 and the upcoming FP-9 ballistic missile developed by Fire Point.

On the battlefield, the Ukrainian counteroffensive known as Vivaldi has reportedly recaptured approximately 140 square kilometers in the eastern Donbas region. To defend against increasing numbers of Russian jet-powered drones, Ukraine is utilizing F-16 fighter jets, which currently intercept about 60 percent of these targets. Meanwhile, the Russian Ministry of Defense has warned that it will intensify attacks on military and industrial targets in response to Ukrainian operations.
