Ukraine’s 1st Azov Corps conducts drone strikes and expands combat units

The 1st Azov Corps of the Ukrainian National Guard has conducted a major drone operation, dubbed “Hell-2,” targeting Russian fuel infrastructure and military logistics in the occupied Donetsk region. The strikes reportedly destroyed facilities used for storing and supplying fuel to Russian troops, aiming to disrupt the wider logistics chain supporting combat vehicles and equipment.

In addition to these operations, the 1st Azov Corps is undergoing structural expansions and command changes. The corps has officially formed a new Assault Regiment, a process that has been underway since May 2026. Furthermore, the 425th Assault Regiment “Skelya” has been placed under the operational command of the Azov Corps to consolidate units for missions along a single section of the front, specifically in the Dobropillya direction. This command shift was reportedly directed by Commander-in-Chief Mykhailo Drapatyi.
