Ukraine's FP-9 ballistic missile expected this autumn

Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy announced that the domestically developed FP-9 ballistic missile is expected to be ready for deployment this autumn. The missile, manufactured by Fire Point, is designed with a range of up to 850 kilometers, a distance capable of reaching Moscow. Technical specifications for the FP-9 include a combat payload of up to 800 kilograms and a maximum speed of 2,300 meters per second.

This development follows the recent combat debut of the shorter-range FP-7 missile, which has a range of approximately 250 to 300 kilometers. While the FP-7 is undergoing the final certification process, the FP-9 is in its final stages of development and testing.

Zelenskyy also stated that Ukraine will intensify its strikes against Russian oil refineries. This strategic shift is a response to what he described as a new Russian doctrine approved by Vladimir Putin, which aims to expand attacks on Ukrainian civilian infrastructure, including schools, hospitals, and logistics networks, to pressure the population before winter.
