Ukrainian Air Force suffers multiple MiG-29 losses in June 2026

On 27 June, Ukrainian air forces reported the loss of three MiG-29 fighters in a single day. One aircraft was confirmed downed during a combat mission, while Russian sources claim two additional MiG-29s were destroyed on the ground at the Voznesensk air base by fast‑moving Geran‑4 attack drones.

Earlier in the conflict, a Russian Su‑35S fighter shot down a Ukrainian MiG-29 at an unprecedented distance of about 190 km, employing an R‑37M long‑range air‑to‑air missile. The strike set a new record for engagement range in the war, highlighting the expanding reach of modern aerial weapons.
