Ukrainian artillery forced to hide as Russian air defenses claim shooting down 585 drones
Ukrainian artillery crews near the city of Dobropillia in the Donbas region said enemy drones forced them to repeatedly conceal their Soviet‑made Msta‑B howitzer, delaying fire missions and requiring extra camouflage before each shot. The unit’s commander, using the call sign “Demian,” said the constant aerial presence has reshaped artillery tactics and limited the frequency of cannon use.
Russia’s defence ministry reported that its air‑defence forces have shot down 585 Ukrainian drones and intercepted 11 guided aerial bombs during the ongoing special military operation in the Donbas, presenting the figures as evidence of its anti‑drone capabilities.
