Ukrainian drone strikes target Russian e-commerce giants Ozon and Wildberries

Ukrainian drone strikes have systematically targeted logistics centers belonging to major Russian e-commerce giants Ozon and Wildberries. These attacks have caused significant fires at warehouses in regions including Dagestan, Krasnodar, Adygea, and Stavropol, leading to worker evacuations and injuries.

Following the strikes on Ozon, the company's stock experienced a temporary decline of up to 12 percent. Vladimir Putin responded to the targeting of economic infrastructure by threatening that Ukraine has “opened a Pandora's box,” vowing that Russia will retaliate by attacking Ukraine’s most sensitive economic sectors.

Economists suggest these attacks could serve as a component in triggering a broader banking crisis. While destroying warehouses alone may not cause a collapse, the Russian banking system is already under pressure. High interest rates and the heavy financing of the military-industrial complex have led to an accumulation of problematic loans that authorities may be attempting to obscure.
