Ukrainian Drones Sink Russian Ship, Damage Zaporizhzhia Nuclear Corridor

A Rosatom‑operated container vessel, the 13,000‑ton "Yanina", was struck by two unmanned aerial vehicles in the Black Sea and began to sink. All 17 crew members were rescued – 16 by the Egyptian‑flagged ship "Delphinus" and the remaining sailor by Russian Black Sea Fleet units. Rosatom General Manager Aleksey Likhachev said the ship, registered in Vladivostok and sailing between India, the United Arab Emirates and Novorossiysk, was carrying frozen food and construction materials, and described the attack as piracy.

Likhachev also reported that a UAV hit the personnel‑passage corridor linking units at the Zaporizhzhia Nuclear Power Plant in Energodar. The strike occurred a few metres from the reactor block, caused no explosion and the plant continued operating safely. He noted ongoing drone attacks on the plant, temporary electricity cuts, and awaited an IAEA inspection by Director General Rafael Grossi.
