Ukrainian Magura V7 Naval Drones to Be Produced in the United States

Ukrainian defense firm UFORCE and U.S. boatbuilder RECONCRAFT have signed a memorandum of understanding to assemble Magura V7 naval drones at facilities in South Carolina and Oregon. The agreement, formalised at the Ukrainian embassy in Washington, will enable domestic production of the combat‑proven, 7.6‑metre unmanned surface vessel that has demonstrated strike capability against aerial targets using AIM‑9 Sidewinder missiles. The partnership is part of a broader U.S. effort to field lower‑cost autonomous platforms after recent conflicts highlighted the expense of drone warfare. Magura V7 can carry payloads over 770 kg, operate for 560 km, launch aerial drones, conduct mine‑countermeasure missions and tow sonar for anti‑submarine work. UFORCE will provide the autonomous system while RECONCRAFT contributes manufacturing expertise and equipment, aiming to produce hundreds, potentially thousands, of units annually for the U.S. military and allied forces.
