Karol Nawrocki leads Polish political trust rankings amid shifting polls
Recent polling data in Poland reveals shifting public sentiment regarding key political figures. President Karol Nawrocki remains the only politician in recent IBRiS rankings to maintain a positive trust balance, with 50.2% of respondents expressing trust compared to 44.8% expressing distrust. However, his lead is narrowing as Foreign Minister Radosław Sikorski has risen to second place with 43.6% trust. Notably, Jarosław Kaczyński fell out of the top ten for the first time this year.
In terms of international perception, Nawrocki is viewed positively by 56% of Poles regarding his representation of the country abroad. Conversely, his popularity in Ukraine has declined significantly; a Rating Group poll shows only 20% of Ukrainians view him positively, compared to 72% for his predecessor, Andrzej Duda. In Ukraine, President Emmanuel Macron and Chancellor Friedrich Merz hold the highest approval ratings among Western leaders.
Domestic criticism remains high for Prime Minister Donald Tusk. A United Surveys study indicates that 57.6% of Poles view his reactions to controversies within his political camp negatively. While Tusk maintains strong support among his own electorate, his broader credibility faces challenges, with 58.9% of the general population expressing distrust in him.
