Ukrainian Third Army Corps Drones Take Control Over Luhansk Logistics
On 31 May, Ukraine's Third Army Corps announced that its drone battalion had seized control of the main logistical routes used by Russian forces in Luhansk oblast and eastern Slobozhanshchyna. The unit reported reaching the Izvarine checkpoint, located more than 205 km deep inside enemy‑held territory, and declared that key towns – Luhansk, Stari Bilsk, Alchevsk, Brianka and Kadiivka – are now under drone surveillance.
The corps' commander, Brig Gen Andriy Biletsky, stated: “Luhansk region is now under the control of our drones.” The operation was presented as a response to Russian claims of fully occupying the region. In the same timeframe, Ukrainian forces also struck Russian infrastructure, including a refinery in Saratov and an oil‑pump station in the Kirovohrad region.
