Ukrainian Youth Peace Messengers Arrive in Italy for Summer Program

Around 20 teenagers from the Zaporizhzhia region of Ukraine arrived in Italy for a two‑week summer camp titled “Messaggeri della pace”. The group travelled first to Lombardy, then to Trentino and finally to Assisi, under the auspices of the Ukrainian Greek‑Catholic Church’s apostolic vicariate in Italy. Archbishop Mario Delpini of Milan welcomed the youths, calling them “ambassadors of hope” and stressing the need to understand peace as a vocation. Participants, including 21‑year‑old Kateryna and 16‑year‑old Varvara, described the contrast between the war‑torn environment they left and the calm they now experience, emphasizing the spiritual and inner‑peace lessons they are learning.
